Chalk on Easel

Chalk on Easel

What you will need:

  • Easel or chalkboard

  • Chalk

How I approached this:

Open-ended art for the win! Easy parent prep and great for the little one. Theo already colors a lot, why not switch up his tools to inspire more exploration?

You may notice they may favor one art “tool” over the other- one may be more comfortable for them, however it's great for them to become exposed to new tools and great for their little muscles to use them all.

Using chalk versus paint brushes, crayons, markers, etc. may make them feel “better”, may make them uncomfortable, or at times even both.

Allowing them to explore while they simply just “feel” about it is wonderful for their emotional learning.
