Playdough recipe of your choice
Extra: glitter, kool aid or anything else you want to add.
Theo gets really involved when we make play dough, it tends to be more “fun” for him than playing with it! He mixes with his hands, squishing the dry ingredients and mixing the wet with dry ingredients.
He used to really dislike being dirty and would appear upset if he got anything on himself and about a month ago started becoming “ok” with it. These kinds of sensory activities are most to thank for the change.
For children who dislike having most things other than clothes on them REALLY benefit from getting their hands “dirty.” These kinds of activities will help them become more comfortable with “different” feelings and textures as they did for Theo.
Sensory is so important for young children-they learn through touch and begin to accept other ways of learning.
