Pouring in Pipes

Pouring in Pipes

What you will need:

  • Bathroom pipes (bought or homemade)

  • Bathtub

  • Water

How I approached this:

We decided to invest in some bath time “tubes” that stick to the bathtub walls (good ol’ amazon). Theo spends a lot of his time playing with any water he can get ahold of.

Bathtime is one of his favorite parts of the day. So it was easy to invest. They are easy to move around and best of all they can be any age appropriate.

How Theo uses them now will not be how he uses them next year. He will figure out he can manipulate them to release water differently and will eventually be able to remove and stick them himself to anywhere around the shower/bath area!

All of the work and thinking it takes for him to fill a cup full of water (which can get heavy) and pour into the tubing is wonderful and the opportunity anf room for experimenting is huge.

All of the tubes are different colors, shapes and release the water differently (and can be manipulated to change how they release water). All of the thoughts and sequencing he is processing during this time is crazy.

No “leading” is needed, children naturally explore new objects and get more out of things when they are “in charge.” These really trigger those little wheels to start turning when they are out!
