Painting with Thin Brushes

Painting with Thin Brushes

What you will need:

  • Paint

  • Paper

  • Think Paint Brushes

How I approached this:

As much as we love free painting art or art with larger stems to hold, I was really focused on Theo and noticed he was choosing thinner stemmed brushes than usual.

Those little muscles of his are feeling a new type of grip and aren't minding them. It's really important to offer a variety. Then they are able to learn to be comfortable with many different varieties of items, whether it be paint brushes or other toys and manipulatives.

The more practice they have with different types of items, the more they strengthen those little muscles that need a little workout here and there. If you want to spruce it up a bit, add large and small toys and objects to a painting activity (driving big and small cars through the paint to make art, etc.)

Any practice is good practice!
