Songs and Counting with Fingers

Today I used YouTube for a super simple song called the five Little ducks. We listened to this multiple times. The first time I used my fingers when singing the song then Theo asked if we could sing it again. So i played it again and this time he mimics me. He used his fingers to count through the song and sing along with me.

We typically listen to in the car so I can’t always see what he’s doing but sure enough, he was following along with his fingers! It really shows me that he understands counting down! This is something I’ll continue to do with him throughout preschool. It’s such a great way to learn speech, to problem solve and to count!
