ABC Letter Suitcase
For this activity, I had initially planned to focus more on colors than anything. Instead, as soon as I open the suitcase, he immediately went looking for all the letters of his name. So, I took this a different route.
Once he had pulled all the letters of his name, I begin asking about colors. I asked questions such as, “what color is shown most in your name?” He started with silly answers, the opposite of what I asked, and later he counted up each color correctly. At four years old silly is common.
It should be pretty obvious what is silly and what is truly unawareness. I also saw a lot of improvement on being able to get the letters out himself and snap it back in. He was able to identify his baby brothers starting letter and other random letters of the alphabet. Initially this was most for fine motor practice but he got way more out of it than I initially planned!
