Building blocks (we chose bristle blocks)
This activity quickly became one in which I had to assist with a bunch. Now, usually you’d hear that this is “bad” and wonder what they are learning if the parent is involved TOO much.
But, there is no such thing as too much time working to problem solve with your child. It just provides different kinds of opportunities for them. While we built this, he may have not been the one connecting everything but he was the one helping me to identify the parts of the car, helping me count the tires and helping with pieces for each part.
He was also processing what I was doing, while I was doing it because I was explaining my steps. He was helping me find colors, sizes that I was looking for during the process.
When the time came he was able to manipulate the final product (built car) in any way sought to use it. Oh the places his little brain went during this activity!
