If you need to, you can make different faces to add on your child’s vehicles beforehand (better because you can expose many different ones or frequent ones your little one may express a bunch to better help them identify their emotions).
Theo has a few cars that have faces which actually gave me the idea for this one.
My husband and I are always reinforcing emotions but I thought taking some time to visualize feelings would be beneficial (mirrors are great too!) For this activity, I just picked up the cars and showed Theo their faces and asked questions like “How does he look?” “Sometimes when people smile it means they are happy, etc.”
This way he is learning people can feel differently and I am not labeling them with a feeling, but offering different feelings for one similar face. This will give him an opportunity to interpret himself.
