How I approached this:
90 percent of the time, Theo brings his letter suitcase out himself. He is most interested in letters right now so I’m taking advantage of that!
He can recognize at least half the alphabet by saying things like “A-auntie, D-daddy, U-uncle,” etc. When he sees the letter that the person begins with, he will instantly call it out (anywhere) and it all began because of this letter suitcase-we never formally introduced/taught him each one.
I sit and let him teach me about the letters and who each letter “belongs” to. When he is willing is when this works best-he's engaged and most importantly interested and children his age learn based on interest!
